Day Twenty Seven - 6/30

Today is a camp setup day. We woke up at 6 am to head over to Starbucks for a team breakfast. Sam Morgan, the camp lead had prepared us mentally for the labor that today would bring. As organized as ever, Sam had created a shared document called “pre-camp checklist”. Upon arrival, he had delegated specific jobs to each member of the team. Beside each job, was the date that it would need to be complete. Sam had assigned me the role of contacting all external companies that we would be working with to introduce myself and confirm dates and times. Throughout the day, in between setting up I would make these calls. The setup itself involved a lot of labor and hard graft. Made even harder by the summer heat in East Atlanta. The facility had received a few packages for us. We began by sorting through these ticking off a checklist. EXACT Sports had previously hosted this camp at the same facility the year before. The facility was great and very helpful. They had stored some equipment away in an outside shed, which again needed sorting through to make sure we had all that was needed for a successful setup. Once we had everything confirmed I would drive around the 5 field complex dropping off 3 tents per field. This was made much easier as the facility owned a couple of golf carts. I would begin assembling A-frames and banners. Before joining the rest of the team in assembling the tents. During this time Costco delivered a humongous Grover delivery. And Jack worked with bringing in all perishables whilst Sam and Teddy worked with the table and chair rental to set up the inside dining/stage area. To conclude the day we were probably 85% ready for tomorrow's check-in starting at 10 am.
