Day Twenty One - 6/22

Today started as just another day on the job. At the moment I feel very blessed that this internship is so flexible. It allows me to work around my other job with Tiffin University Men’s Soccer. I don’t feel rushed to do my work for EXACT Sports at a certain time. They give me the freedom to work on my projects at my speed in my own time. However, today I realized that my camp travel is coming up fast. Just next week I will be heading to the Southeast Academic 50 ID camp hosted in Conyers, Georgia. This is the part of the internship in which I have been looking forward to the most. However, as of now, I would say as an operations team we are only 50% complete with our tasks ranging from confirming catering companies for both lunch and dinner options, finding coaches social venues, finding transport/shuttle companies to work with daily, and finding yoga instructors for day 3 of a camps yoga session. With pressure mounting up, today fellow intern Lisa Hardwart informed us of the news that she will be leaving EXACT Sports. Personally, this was sad news, as and Lisa had been working so well together as a team developing our relationship as work colleagues. But I am very happy for Lisa and I want to wish her all the best with her future ventures. Today was a much-needed moment in which we realized exactly where we are as a team. We are now a man down, but we are all feeling motivated to pick up and take over the work that Lisa did. With this being said I reached out to Lisa later in the day to have her send over any potential leads contact information and forward me any emails in which I can then take over as the best point of contact for the future.
