Day Three 5/26

At this moment the only people I had met are Chris Gordon (my supervisor) and Lisa Harwardt (fellow ops intern). Chris sent out an available email to gather everyone involved in the company. Scheduling a virtual orientation via google meet. Prior to this, we were given the heads up that we would be playing the game “two truths and a lie”. The meeting agenda went as followed. Starting with staff introductions from all departments. Each full-time employee shared information about themselves (favorite sports team, where they are from, etc.) Chris, who was leading the meeting then talked about important documents and tools for success. At this time we dived a little more into the applications and software we were told to download and create accounts for. We were instructed to sign a non-disclosure agreement and send it back to Barry Tarter who is the executive director. Finally, we got to introduce the interns for this summer. We were given an opportunity to introduce ourselves and give our “two truths and a lie” which everyone else participated in.

Later on, it was made mandatory to jump on another online call. This time It was with a lady called Mauri who is doesn’t work for EXACT Sports. She led us through skills/communication training. The fact that EXACT Sports had brought in an external source to deliver this kind of information tells me a lot about the overall culture within EXACT Sports. Mauri was fantastic, stressing the importance of communication. More than ever, because 80% of the internship would be remote, working from home.
