Last night was the coaches' social evening hosted at the Whistle Post Tavern. We have worked with Linda, the owner at the whistle post in the past, and have always had a good experience. The coaches were given a set menu and open bar tab in Which EXACT Sports would pay for. The evening was a way for EXACT Sports to say thank you to the coaches, in the hopes of continuing relationships with the programs represented. Today was day 3 and the final day of the Southeast boys academic 50 ID camp. To start the day of I and the rest of the team made the usual trip to Starbucks for breakfast. This morning Jack woke up to a text from the yoga instructor saying that she would not be able to make the session this morning due to her car being broken into overnight. This left me with no time to arrange for another external yoga company to come in. Taking initiative, I and Teddy looked at each other and volunteered to lead a yoga session with 200+ boys. Both of us have little experience in this department. Teddy started the session off using some body-mind techniques before I took over leading more of a stretching session. By day 3 the campers are beginning to feel fatigued and sore and this time to relax is important preparation for the final day. Despite facing adversity we pulled it off and the campers began to head over to their coaches for the first session of the day. My job for the rest of the time was to continue making sure things were running smoothly, Sam (camp lead) had everything he needed, lunches and snacks were provided to the campers and the facility was clean. The boys' camp was coming to a close, to celebrate I and the team are heading into Atlanta over Independence Day. We are going to head back Sunday evening to get ready for it all again, as we have the girl's camp next.
