Today I moved from researching potential vendors in the Bel Air, MD (Mid-Atlantic) to researching the Morgan Hill, CA (NorCal) area. I knew this week would be slightly tedious. However, I wanted to set myself the goal of completing all the research needed for the vendor village before sending out all initial emails. The NorCal area seemed to be very active, with lots of companies and businesses to choose from that could be possible vendors at EXACT Sports camps. With that being said I want to talk more about what is expected in my role. So far it is clear how professional and organized the company is. Because my work is going to be mainly remote I do not have to follow a particular dress code. However, when we meet virtually, typically on Mondays, I try to dress formally. During these meetings, they often ask the interns when they will be coming into the office which is located in Chicago, Illinois. I am the only intern who isn’t located locally. They knew from the start that I am located in Ohio and made a slight exception for me. They were open to adapting the format of how the internship is run, due to COVID-19. Gratefully, this worked in my favor. If it was required to come Into the office however many times a week I would not have been able to commit to this internship. At this moment I would love to plan a trip up to Chicago to meet everyone in person.
