Today I worked towards completing the task of calling around all the venues for EXACT’s volleyball and basketball camps to get any updated information on COVID-19 protocols. This small project was a great experience for me. But I wouldn’t say it was my favorite task so far throughout this journey. After this, I got back to work looking into catering options. At this time I began to get a couple of leads however I was slightly unsure of what was the next steps in confirming a local business to work with EXACT sports. To make sure I was giving the correct information I called my supervisor Chris Gordon to ask a couple of questions. I wanted to know the price range that I am looking to get within. This way when I was on the phone I could tell the company exactly what we are looking to spend per person. I found that often, due to the number of units we are looking to purchase. The company would be flexible, working within our price range. This is my first taste of light bartering in which I didn’t expect to become very good at it by the end of the internship. A problem I would often run into with finding pizza places to work with was that they wouldn’t deliver to the location. One place I spoke with was willing to make an exception as the hotel location was just slightly out of their delivery range. This particular company also gave me a good rate for pasta trays at $85 and salad trays at $42.
