Day Four 5/27

Today we met as an “operations team” altogether for the very first time using google meet. At this moment I had already gotten to know my supervisor Chris Gordon and fella intern Lisa Hardwardt. This meeting was a great opportunity for Chris to introduce Hannah Murphy who would be another one of our superiors. From what I believe she is a full-time employee for EXACT Sports with a background in operations management. Throughout this meeting, we went over some of the upcoming projects that we would be working on throughout my time working for EXACT this summer. One of the biggest projects and one that I would be starting to work on before this meeting was called the “vendor village project”. With this, my first question was “what is vendor village”? This summer EXACT Sports host 7 camps located in North and South California, Georgia, Maryland, Illinois, Connecticut, and Texas. Each camp has a “camp hub” that serves as a home base for everyone at the event. Camp hubs will have over 500 athletes, coaches, and parents coming through the area multiple times throughout the event. EXACT wants vendors to be located throughout this area advertising their business. It would be my job to research potential vendors in the assigned locations and initiate contact to set up calls and follow-up emails for my supervisors to then take over setting up a “pitch” to provide further information.
