The goal for the day was to continue finishing up calls to all camp venues for any updated COVID-19 protocols. For this particular journal, I thought I would talk about how my coursework over the last two years since being at Tiffin University has helped/prepared me for working this internship. There have been a few courses that I would say have been more relative to this field of work. One of those being SMG637 Personnel Management in Sport which looked more at recruiting, staffing, and maintaining and favorable work environment. Also, the business strategies in the sport course have helped prepare me well. In this course, we looked at different business concepts, decision making, leadership, communication, and marketing in sport. As of right now, I haven’t had to make any big decisions, but I know that will be coming as soon as I have heard back from more companies who are willing to work with us. Like I mentioned in one of my last blogs, communication has been so important in this line of work. I’m finding myself on the phone a lot and sending many emails. Communicating clearly and efficiently is a big part of working in operations. As of now, I haven’t had to do much marketing, this line of work happens in a different department of EXACT Sports. However, I am well aware of different techniques, and some of these I am already seeing implemented in EXACT Sports. For example, the vendor village project which is a technique used to market to other companies.
